This is a small-scale resort project in the center of Vietnam urban city. The challenge was developing a place that offered a secluded place and different experience from high-density urban status quo. This London Refurbishment by Studio 3A is a bold yet sensitive refurbishment of a Victorian semi-detached home in Fulham, London. Designed for a young family, the project transforms a dark, segmented house into a warm, light-filled space rich in materiality and character. Studio 3A reorganised and extended the plan to improve spatial flow and daylight, using natural oak, lime-washed walls, and custom joinery throughout. The house is located in the southwest section of the mountain town of Arachova, a popular winter destination, in close distance to the archeological site of Delphi in Central Greece. Originally built in 1989, it underwent an extended remodeling as to become a weekend getaway for a family of four, their relatives, and friends while serving as a ‘base’ for winter sports. And it does so in teams of 8 to 10 engineers. Separate rooms are designed for the teams. A lot of glass and incorporated into the walls. This creates acoustically sealed project spaces with lots of interconnection between them. The use of partially architectural walls with wood decor creates a solid appearance.
