Jeongdongjin – The Eastern Edge of Korea The new office of Architecture Studio YEIN is located in Jeongdongjin, a coastal village along Korea's East Sea. The name Jeongdongjin originates from its position “a village located directly east of Gwanghwamun in Hanyang, once home to a riverside ferry.” This tranquil seaside community, primarily composed of rural farming and fishing villages, features small coastal harbors and fields stretching inland. Located in Espai Serrahima, a hub for artistic and cultural companies, this former industrial building has been renovated to serve as a contemporary workspace. The building was originally a textile factory, with a concrete-and-steel addition constructed in the 1970s, giving the complex an eclectic character within Barcelona. In the course of the renovation of the building of Österreichische Beamtenversicherung in Vienna, the office space was redesigned according to our design. In a color play of greenblue, terracotta and beige, modern elements fit seamlessly into the architectural old building.
