The historic headquarters of Sumol Compal in Lisbon—Portugal’s leading non-alcoholic beverage corporation and official regional producer for global brands like Pepsi, Lipton, 7UP, Guaraná Antarctica, and Gatorade—underwent a deep modernization and corporate retrofit designed by MC-A.
With industrial origins dating back to 1971, when it operated as a bottling plant, the project transformed its 3,100 m² space into a smart, dynamic work ecosystem centered on human well-being.
The intervention optimized the two-story layout to accommodate 320 employees in a hybrid and hot-desking model, moving away from the traditional open-plan concept to introduce functional "neighborhoods," fluid circulation paths, and collaborative zones flooded with natural light.
Developed using BIM methodology, the renovation paired the revival of the brand’s industrial heritage with a radical transformation. By prioritizing ergonomics, acoustic comfort, and biodynamic lighting, the project created a hub of corporate energy designed to attract talent and drive efficiency.
