3dO arkitekter is an architecture office based in Stockholm. A significant part of how we work is interpreting our clients' dreams and transforming them into built reality. It is about understanding and interpreting the conditions that are specific to each project and designing a holistic response. There is no contradiction between beautiful form and good function. 3dO has, for almost thirty years, produced numerous projects in various typologies and scales, ranging from zoning plans with hundreds of homes, through commercial and domestic architecture, to product design. We have deliberately chosen not to specialize in any particular typology, and we do not work in any particular "style". We have however built up most experience with two typologies, at rather opposite ends of the spectrum: bespoke private residences and social/healthcare projects. Our conviction is that the experience gained through these different types of projects has broadened our skills and competence. Valuing and developing each employee's particular skill set creates one of our primary strengths, a solid knowledge of how to build combined with a confident artistic ability. Often it is necessary to metaphorically keep one’s head above the surface to succeed in working through tricky technical situations, complex regulation, banal conventions or short time-frames. To do so, we work together with our trusted and highly competent entrepreneurs and consultants, for the satisfaction of overcoming challenges, and because we know that the end result is worth the effort.
