“Don’t make something unless it is both necessary and useful; but if it is both necessary and useful, do not hesitate to make it beautiful!” — Shaker saying

Pragmatism and rationalism are epithets that define our work. Founded in Brussels about fifteen years ago, the production of our office consists of sustainable projects, with a simple and uncluttered architecture that avoids gratuitous gestures. In constant research, we favor improvement over experimentation, common sense over sophistication, contrast as a source of astonishment, and accuracy as a source of balance.

We embrace challenges; constraints force us to be more creative, finding new solutions to new problems. We are convinced that the architect must above all offer generous, robust, and friendly spaces; that everyday architecture is made up of right angles; and that the adequacy of the project to the budget is essential.

Inspiration from techniques and materials diverted from industrial architecture and the use of raw materials (raw concrete, wood, polycarbonate…) are some of our strategies to give character to our architecture while respecting budget and planning constraints.

The proposed sustainability is to be taken in a global sense and encompasses location, control of mobility, accessibility for all, efficient use of energy and water, responsible use of materials, maximum flexibility, as well as the anticipation of minimal maintenance.

This vision allows us to create emotion from a formally restrained and politically committed practice.
