AlexAllen Studio LLC

Alexandra Burr and Allen Slamic are multidisciplinary designers based in Brooklyn, New York. They met in 2005 while studying at the Yale School of Architecture where the foundation of their design sensibility was laid. They founded AlexAllen Studio in 2013 with a collection of small objects that reflected their desire to create beautiful spaces and objects with an inherent simplicity of form. From their studio in Gowanus Brooklyn they work on small architecture projects and design and manufacture lighting, furniture and objects. They strive to be authentic to materials and form. Designs are pared down and minimal yet with an added bit of whimsy, texture, or color. Their approach is material and process driven, exploring the technical challenges of the fabrication and manufacturing process while striving to produce innovative and timeless design. Alex and Allen have over 10 years of combined experience practicing architecture in New York City. Their experience ranges from residential to commercial and institutional projects.
