About Arclinea Technology and creativity are the complementary concepts at the heart of Arclinea’s kitchen philosophy; a philosophy that incorporates the highest quality in the mastery of materials, processes and technologies. The company has a legacy of craftmanship dating back to 1816. Interrupted by the first World War, Arclinea was re-established in 1925 in Vicenza, Italy by Silvio Fortuna as a craft carpentry workshop that became ‘Arclinea Cucine Componibili’ in 1960. Dedicating all its resources to kitchen cabinetry, Arclinea gained recognition in the high-end international luxury kitchen sector. Arclinea’s success was confirmed by public and experts alike at the Milan Trade Fair of 1963, thanks to the Claudia, the first Italian kitchen with built-in appliances. Since then, Arclinea has been incorporating the technology and solutions applied to professional kitchens and adapting them to the various requirements of domestic life. The Arclinea Collection is designed and coordinated by Antonio Citterio and features a completely contemporary concept in functional and trend-setting kitchens. Citterio, renowned Italian architect and designer, is the recipient of Italy’s highest design award, the Compasso d’Oro as well as Elle Décor’s 2004 Designer of the Year Award. In addition to functionality, the Arclinea Collection surrounds the cook with care and attention; both with safety as with ergonomics. The quality of the Arclinea product begins with a custom-made and personally-assisted design. Arclinea carefully contemplates the use of space, time and utensils, and considers the movements involved in food preparation and cooking. This is evident in the materials, the colors, the freedom of movement and composition, and in every working aspect of the kitchen.
