Assar is committed to taking a cooperative approach to its work, in which delegating skills makes perfect sense. The very name of the company says it all: assar “an ASSociation of ARchitects”.
The office has over 100 architects applying their expertise to a range of disciplines, which ranks it among the largest Belgian architect firms. Assar is therefore able to take on large scale projects in different sectors, but more importantly, assar is therefore able to take on assignments that go above and beyond mere design.
Nowadays architects get involved very early in the process (feasibility studies, programming, and so on) and stay involved right through until the building becomes operational.
While Assar’s added value lies in its integrated project management, it finds its strength in the way it works, matching specific skills to certain assignments or project types. These strengths are further amplified by its permanent commitment to embracing ecological and environmental issues. All of this contributes to assar’s large capability to comprehend the messages needing to be conveyed on a particular site and in a given environment; and above all, to make choices and stick to them without being bound by them (particularly for long-term projects).
Its guiding principle has always been and continues to be a sense for the human beings for whom it builds. Whatever the type of living space involved (office, housing, care homes, hospitals and mixed projects).
