Atelier JMCA is an architecture and design studio founded in 2011 by Angélique Maillard, interior architect, and Julien Cottier, HMONP architect and designer. Two complementary areas of expertise and sensibilities come together to offer a comprehensive architectural vision combined with a refined mastery of use, space, and detail.
Based in Quimper and Paris, the studio operates throughout Finistère, more broadly across Brittany, in Paris, and nationwide. We support private clients, professionals, and public institutions in all types of projects, including new construction, renovation, and rehabilitation: individual and collective housing, public facilities, offices, commercial spaces, retail, and hospitality venues.
Atelier JMCA’s expertise is built with the support of a multidisciplinary team composed of architects, interior architects, designers, and graphic designers, as well as through collaborative experience with local professionals and partners. This cross-disciplinary approach allows us to consider each project as a coherent whole, from spatial organization and the quality of spaces to the design of details, furniture, and lighting.
This approach leads us to work across a wide range of fields and on projects of all scales: building architecture and rehabilitation, commercial and hospitality space design, interior architecture and spatial restructuring, scenography and site enhancement, furniture design, and bespoke fittings. By combining these disciplines, we strive to create distinctive places where use, aesthetics, and functionality are in balance.
Each project is conceived as a specific response to its context, uses, and identity. We favor a sensitive, functional, and sustainable architecture, with particular attention to volumes, materials, and details. Our goal is to design spaces capable of adapting to future uses, promoting reversibility, transformation, and the long-term durability of buildings.
