baukultur/ca is a Toronto-based residential design studio creating contemporary homes, transformative renovations, multiplexes, laneway and garden suites, and boutique residential developments.
Founded in 2015, the studio brings several decades of international design experience to projects throughout Toronto and the GTA. Our work is rooted in the belief that architecture should respond to its site, its context, and the people who inhabit it, creating homes that are thoughtful, enduring, and deeply connected to everyday life.
Our design approach is influenced by the clarity and discipline of European modernism, combined with the warmth, restraint, and material sensitivity found in Scandinavian and Japanese architecture. Natural light, proportion, materiality, and carefully considered detailing guide every project from the earliest sketches through construction.
We approach every project as a complete architectural composition, thoughtfully integrating architecture, interiors, landscape, and construction into a cohesive whole. Each design is shaped by its site, the people who will inhabit it, and a deep understanding of how buildings are realized.
Beyond design, we guide clients through every stage of the process, from feasibility and planning through permits, consultant coordination, and construction, bringing clarity, experience, and confidence to complex residential projects.
