Chang Hee Lee

Chang Hee Lee is a designer currently based in London whose work mostly revolves around industrial design. He is a maker who is looking for the concept of ‘Synaesthetic Aura’ in relation to cross-sensory aspects in his design practice. His approach to design is experimentally courageous and, as a design maker, this propels him to focus more on alchemy, synesthesia, mechanical and material exploration. Since the age of five, Lee has lived abroad in many different countries and this unique opportunity has allowed him to absorb a diverse range of cultures and enhanced his ability to approach things from a broader perspective. He is a graduate of Central Academy of Fine Arts (中央美术学院) and finished his Master’s in Design Critical Practice at Goldsmiths, University of London. He is currently pursuing his MPhil/PhD in Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) at the Royal College of Art and recently had an exhibition with Jake and Dinos Chapman and seven other international artists at the Touch Art Fair during the Frieze week.
