Cork is the outer bark of the evergreen cork oak. It is a renewable and sustainable material to create warm and comfortable and its extreme resilience and insulating e:iciency make it ideal for floor application.
Corkart was a pioneer in the production of floating cork floors, oDering unique features that set them apart from traditional flooring products on the market. Over time, the company expanded its expertise to include the production of cork insulation materials, floating linoleum flooring, and floating floors with a top vinyl layer. Corkart also stands out as the first Portuguese company to manufacture cork fabric, enabling the creation of contemporary design products.
In 2021, Corkart launched one of the few SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) factories in Europe, dedicated to the production of high-quality, waterproof rigid vinyl flooring made from over 90% natural and recycled materials. Environmental responsibility has always been at the heart of Corkart’s operations, demonstrated by the installation of one of the largest solar power plants for self-consumption in Portugal and by the implementation of highly sustainable production processes.
Corkart’s recycling program focuses on collecting post-installation and post-consumer flooring with the goal of transforming it into new, reusable resources.
