Guim Costa Calsamiglia (Barcelona , 1968) is an architect from the Superior Technical School of Barcelona. With more than fifteen years of professional experience, since 2010 is the Principal Architect at costacalsamiglia arquitecte, an architectural office for the development of architecture, design and urban planning projects. The main aim of the study is to make an accurate and high quality architecture, creating spaces for users comfort and incorporating creative and innovative trends and systems . Other objectives of the office are the restoration of the original architectural elements and the incorporation of energy efficiency criteria for projects. The office always looks for an open and transparent relationship with the client and for the internationalization of the work and projects.
His career includes collaborations with architecture universities ( ETSAB , UIC or BAU School ), with magazines and publishers ( Actar and Gustavo Gili ) and with the Architects Association of Catalonia (COAC) . Currently the office is working on various projects and competitions, such as: the project of the multinational headquarters EFD-India in Bangalore (India ) of 12.000 sqm and 4,5 M € budget; the project of the Thomsen House of 550 sqm and 1 M € budget; and the extension for the Malé House in la Costa Brava; and developing a prototype of efficient, sustainable and adaptable house, the U- Passiv .
