Gonzalez Goodale Architects was established in 1980 on the principle of improving the public environment through design excellence and sensitive client service. On its 30th anniversary, the firm is led in partnership by Armando Gonzalez, FAIA, its founding partner; David Goodale, AIA, its design principal for 20 years; John Ferguson, AIA, quality assurance principal; and principals Harry Drake, AIA and Ali Barar, AIA. Today, with a staff of 35, the firm maintains a unique team-based working culture and a commitment to the positive impact that architecture can have on society. Located in Old Pasadena, Gonzalez Goodale Architects occupies a building of its own design. Through its integration into Pasadena’s pedestrian alleyways, its usable urban landscaping, public art, and daylit studios, the building reflects the firm's philosophy of design for the enrichment of public life. Since its founding, Gonzalez Goodale Architects has served diverse public, non-profit, and institutional clients with an interactive, creative design process. As a result, the firm has received numerous design awards and maintains an extensive list of built quality projects across a wide range of building types. Among those are Salerno Livingston Architects and Building Analysts of San Diego, who share and leverage their design and facility assessment expertise with Gonzalez Goodale Architects in the civic, municipal, housing and education market sectors. Building Analysts, the in-house forensic division of Salerno Livingston Architects utilizes the technical and analytical knowledge of experienced architects and other specialists who have expertise in many aspects of construction technology and building science. Combined with the talents of their design staff, the results are objective problem solving, thoughtful application of lessons-learned, and well-detailed buildings. Salerno Livingston Architects is a professional design practice providing over 40 years of service to clients throughout California, Arizona and Nevada. Their offices, and Gonzalez Goodale's, are located in the heart of San Diego's historic Gaslamp District. The current staff has worked on literally thousands of projects related to new construction, remodeling, renovations, and repairs in a variety of building types.
