Gordon Murray Architects is the latest evolution of a practice which can trace its roots back to 1933. Based in Glasgow, it has been newly formed from the partnership of gm+ad architects, itself widely regarded as one of Scotland’s most dynamic and often controversial practices, gaining an international reputation for producing works which contribute to its inherent ethos: To encourage creativity, innovation and collaboration whilst promoting sustainability. This sustainability is key as we believe that positive additions to the built environment act as a mechanism for positive cultural change.
Gordon Murray, the founding principal, is involved in progressing civic engagement through education and professional representation. Correspondingly, several members of the practice contribute to both schools of architecture within the city as studio tutors.
In addition to new build projects across Scotland and internationally, Gordon Murray Architects is involved in conservation, sensitive urban renewal and regeneration initiatives.
Our client base is purposely varied in both public and private sectors, ranging from individuals through government bodies to major corporate and financial institutions.
Gordon Murray Architects is a highly skilled team with members from around the world. Consequently, we have fluency in technical writing and the spoken word in the following languages; Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Basque, Chinese, Mandarin , French and Italian.
