HERTL.ARCHITEKTEN

HERTL.ARCHITEKTEN was founded in 2000 by Gernot Hertl and is set in the city centre of Steyr. Their work has received international recognition in only a few years. Through early publications and increasing project dimensions the practice became one of Austria’s best known architecture studios. The breadth of realized projects ranges from cultural via residential to commercial buildings and from social housing to the small garden cabin. A language of clear shapes combined with emphasizing on less but effective sensual elements aims to create space atmosphere and aura. Not the pure function but the mood, not a two-dimensional stratifaction but the urban logic determine the structure of our ideas. As a team we work together to ensure design excellence, budget control and project management. We believe that architectural quality results from the synthesis of concept, function, context, sensuality and beauty. HERTL. ARCHITEKTEN has won many competitions and awards, national and international.
