FRESH TAKES, SEASONED OUTLOOK
LJC is a full-service design and architecture firm committed to enhancing the quality of the human experience and to improving how design and architecture can impact each individual’s emotional being. By harnessing the power of integrated design, including architecture, workplace strategy, interior design, landscape architecture, urban planning and engineering, the company achieves its clients’ goals and aspirations.
OUR PARTNERS
Lamar Johnson Collaborative seeks to reduce the inefficiency and risk inherent in the design and construction process by leveraging the knowledge and capabilities of its development and construction partners for the benefit of its clients. Where appropriate, we introduce an enhanced integrated delivery approach in concert with CRG and Clayco. Just as frequently, we engage with contractors, consultants, and affiliates in a wide range of projects that help us keep innovating in our industry.
OUR HISTORY
Forum Studio (Clayco’s original architecture practice, created in 1999) merged with technology firm Bates in 2018, creating BatesForum. In June 2019, Clayco combined the design practices Lamar Johnson Collaborative and BatesForum to create an integrated practice staffed by more than 240 professionals. The integration with Clayco’s full-service approach to project delivery allows the entity, Lamar Johnson Collaborative, to provide clients a full complement of services and remove inefficiency and risk from the design and development process.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
As our design aspires to build healthy communities, so we aspire to build healthy communities through active engagement in civic and community affairs. You will find our leaders on the boards of the cultural and charitable organizations that are driving change in our cities and neighborhoods. Our professionals contribute time and energy to industry collaborations including Commercial Real Estate Executive Women (CREW), Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Minority Architects (NOMA) and the ACE Mentorship program.

Lamar Johnson Collaborative is the lead sponsor of the Big Ed Bowl, an annual industry event that has raised more than $2 million in support of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
