Merge Studio is about bringing together of people, ideas and thoughts, sciences and arts, technology and design. It is our belief that only through teamwork and collaboration at various levels, that innovative design solutions can be sought. We believe that there are no perfect solutions. Instead, Merge aims to achieve a perfect balance of a host of project goals and ambitions including; programmatic requirements, economic efficiency, aesthetic desire, human comfort, environmental harmony and energy and resource consciousness amongst others.

Elegant simplicity is our design motto. In an age where the background has become the ‘iconic’, elegance in design not only starts to stand out, it becomes pleasing to our visual senses. We challenge the common perception of aesthetics against economics. Desirable and sophisticated aesthetics can be achieved through creative thinking within the boundaries of economic constraints. Even though design and aesthetics are always on our minds, our design approach reaches beyond formalistic dogma and into the real matter of the built environment to explore human occupancy and comfort, cultural sensitivity, contextual harmony and environmental responsiveness.
