The corporate history of Morger Partner Architekten began in 1988 with the foundation of the office Morger & Degelo by Meinrad Morger and Heinrich Degelo. It gained an international reputation through the construction of the trade fair tower in Basel (2003) and the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein in Vaduz (2000). In 2006, the office Morger + Dettli Architekten was founded, which was renamed Morger Partner in 2015 and is now managed by Meinrad Morger with the partners Martin Klein and Henning König. Morger Partner Architekten works on a large number of projects in Switzerland and abroad, ranging from small, private buildings to large scale public projects as well as urban design. In the most recent past, Morger Partner completed projects such as the indoor swimming pool, spa and sports centre in St. Moritz, the Hilti Art Foundation in Vaduz and the Basel Academy of Art and Design. Important current projects are new developments such as the Claraturm in Basel and the Depot Hard in Zurich, as well as the conversion of the Alte Akademie in Munich. The office has around 60 employees in Basel.
„Our buildings and projects are the result of a contextual method of working by means of which important as well as seemingly unimportant, yet always specific qualities of the location and task are identified. Using this type of investigation, we are able to give the rational process of integrating building elements a suggestive, poetic touch. As such, our architecture is less the result of formal intentions and far more reflects our general approach.“
