BRINGING OUT THE BEST IN PEOPLE THROUGH THE POWER OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN
We are architects, designers, strategists, construction architects, visualization experts, communicators, and model builders – but we are first and foremost people.
As architects and designers, empathy, and the ability to immerse ourselves in the lives, hopes, and dreams of others are our hallmarks and most vital skills. We go to work every single day to bring out the best in people. For our clients, their employees and users – and for each other. At the intersection of different professions and perspectives, we collaborate to create bright, healthy, and inspiring environments for living, learning, experiencing, and working. Our deep roots in the Scandinavian architecture and design tradition have taught us a democratic and inclusive approach, making us passionate advocates for architecture and design that, above all, creates value for people.
We enhance our clients’ world and operations through trusted relationships and strategic consulting. Our mission is never just to deliver a building, but always to contribute to our clients' strategic goals and agendas for change. We challenge, rethink, conceptualize, and facilitate positive development. We constantly question the status quo, leveraging our independence to offer unbiased advice on how architecture and design can create the most value.
We transform complex problems to creative solutions. For us, one size does not fit all. Each building or room is carefully created as an answer to a difficult question our clients have.
We have one of Denmark's largest and most diverse creative teams, constantly evolving. Though our roots lie in more than 40 years of innovative legacy and experience, our eyes are firmly set on the needs of tomorrow. We always strive to see opportunities rather than limitations, going through every inch of a building or room with new eyes, collaborating to creating beautiful and sustainable solutions that bring out the best in people, supporting and strengthening our clients' ambitions and visions.
We live in a time where responsibility is not an option but a prerequisite for having a seat at the table. We help our clients navigate the complexities of construction, enabling them to make responsible and future-proof decisions. As designers of the built environment, we have a special obligation to create solutions that balance today's demands and needs with the possibilities and challenges of tomorrow. In collaboration with ambitious clients, we actively contribute to positive changes.
PLH was founded in 1977 by Palle Leif Hansen – a man who was a pioneer in the Danish architectural industry. Palle Leif Hansen introduced taking a corporate approach, believing that architecture and design could add value to businesses. Since then, adding value has been the core of our businesses; and we believe that you best add value by creating the framework that makes people thrive.
PLH is owned by XPartners, which is a Nordic consulting group within architecture, engineering and design. Our four dedicated partners Paulette Christophersen, Søren Mølbak, Kirsten Herup Søvang, and Lars Toksvig are leading PLH with a hands-on approach to all projects. Clients, collaborators and people of PLH will experience a holistic approach from them being involved with every part of a project from the initial concept to the final result. You will most likely find them at the sketching table sparring with PLH people, doing analysis among employees to ensure understanding of needs, or wearing a safety helmet on site to ensure that the design concept is ensured in the construction.
