POSITIVE LIVINGS
After years of professional activity in various architectural firms and independently, Clara Ulargui Aparicio and Luis Javier Aguilar Benavides, formed as a team in early 2018, as a result of a common interest, sustainable architecture, energy efficiency and sustainability. With the idea, that the greatest energy saving is that which is not consumed, they are developing projects focused on nZEB buildings, near-zero energy consumption buildings.
Clara Ulargui Aparicio
Passivhaus Designer by the Passihaus Institute, Master in Design and Environmental Management of Buildings by the University of Navarra (2013) and architect by the E.T.S. of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM, 2005).
She has several courses in Building and Facility Rehabilitation. She has been a speaker at many conferences such as: International Conference on Construction Research, Eduardo Torroja Institute (2013); Specialization course on Durability, Rehabilitation and Sustainability, CSIC (2014); Workshop on Nearly Zero Energy Consumption Buildings Madrid 0.0, COAM (2014); Monday Rehabilitation Conference, COAM (2014).
She has publications such as: Guía de Asistencia técnica GAT Rehabilitación / 8 Las buenas prácticas: Madrid Renove, published by COAM; Article De bloque tradicional de viviendas a modelo de rehabilitación y eficiencia, Clima Eficiencia magazine, communication presented at the IV Congreso EECN de edificios de consumo casi nulo; Viviendas Pasivas en Construcción en Villanueva de la Cañada (2018).
She has participated in exhibitions such as: Architectural Processes, within SICRE, and in the International Week of Efficient Construction and Rehabilitation (2014). And he has won 1st Prize in the Madrid Renove Rio competition on energy rehabilitation in residential buildings.
Luis Aguilar Benavides
Master in Advanced Architecture Projects (MPAA ETSAM 2013) in the line of Theory and Criticism with a Master Thesis on Contemporary contributions to the corridor street in collective housing and architect by the E.T.S. of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM, 2005) and Ecole d'Architecture de Grenoble (France, 1999). He obtained a scholarship from the Spanish Academy in Rome (MAEC, 2008) where he developed research work on experimental social housing from the 80s.
He has been a guest lecturer at several universities: Coordinator of the seminar Public space, sociability, and citizenship space (RAER Rome 2008), seminar Grand Tour Terzo Milenio. Tor Vergata University (Rome, 2008), Inhabited Landscapes Workshop Aranea Group (Alicante, 2011), Symmetries architectural teaching platform (Rome-Lisbon 2012), workshop Romatreputozero of the University Roma Tre/Waterloo University Canada of Rome/Temple University Rome (Rome, 2012) and in the workshop WAVE of the University IUAV (Venice, 2014-2015) together with the architects Jose María Sánchez García and Mauro Marzo. He has also been a visiting assistant professor of Projects in the Teaching Unit of Jose Manuel López-Peláez (ETSAM 2012-2014).
He was runner-up in the J5 housing competition (2008) and his publications include Sanaa Rolex Learning Center (Arkrit ETSAM, 2014) and Social space, market and habitat. Casablanca (ETSAM, 2012). He has several publications of his most recent works in different specialized architecture blogs.
