Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners

After 10 years of working in collaboration with architects like Renzo Piano, Massimiliano Fuksas and Oscar Niemeyer, Massimo Alvisi and Junko Kirimoto founded the architecture office Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners in 2002. The office, currently with a staff of ten people, has collected several awards in the past few years: first prize for “Meno è più 4” competition for a nursery and civic centre in Rome; second prize for “Piccole Stazioni Ferroviarie” competition; second prize for “Madrid 2016 – kayak site” competition for Madrid Olympic nomination; first prize for the “Corato Theatre restoration” competition, a building which was recently opened to the public. Among various prizes, the AIT Award 2012 for the Naples Art Academy Theater, selected in the category: public building interiors. The main completed projects by Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners are: Bulgari Winery in Southern Tuscany, Italy; Molino Casillo Headquarters in Puglia, Italy; Incà, a complex of small and medium factories in Barletta (Bari), Italy; the Naples Fine Arts Academy Theater, Italy; a hotel in Dalmine (Bergamo), Italy; a residential building in Trani (Bari), Italy; the temporary pavilions for the Rome Cinema Fest, Italy; the new Japanese restaurant Hamasei in Rome, Italy; the Davide Cenci’s stores in Rome and in Milan, Italy; the TIM shop Il telefonino in Genova and the TIM showroom in Rome, Italy. The main installations by Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners are: the temporary exhibition “Il silenzio a colori” which featured Michelangelo Antonioni’s paintings; the permanent exhibition Musical Instruments Museum for the Santa Cecilia Academy in the Auditorium in Rome, Italy; the Salt Expo in Naples, Italy. Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners has cooperated with Rem Koolhaas’s office, OMA, in the project management of the ex-Mercati Generali project in Rome and the Prada Foundation in Milan, Italy. Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners has recently completed the project management for the Universal Astana Concert Hall in Kazakhstan in cooperation with Mabco Construction, and the project management of the Rocca di Frassinello Winery in Gavorrano (Grosseto, Italy), in cooperation with RPBW Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Among various works in progress are the Hotel Luxury Spa in Trani, Southern Italy and the Headquarters relocation for The Pritzker Organization LLC (TPO) in Chicago. The studio was also selected by Luca Zevi, curator of the Italian Pavilion in the 13th International Architecture Venice Biennale 2012, for the exhibit Architecture for the Made in Italy which showcased Incà, the industrial complex in Barletta (Bari, Italy). www.alvisikirimoto.it
