I have been a registered architect for over 25 years, but my passion for building and design started long before that. I was born into a family of builders in regional Victoria and grew up under the influence of the construction process. From the characters plying their trades on site, to the sheets of drawings from which a building would grow. It was these sheets of paper that captured my imagination more than muddy trenches full of steel. My older brother, Andrew, had a profound influence on the direction of my career. A carpenter, laborer, artisan and raconteur, we built houses together in the early 80's. It was here he showed me the practicalities of residential construction.
