Kubota & Bachmann Architects

Kubota and Bachmann Architects LCC is a modern and dynamic architecture firm based in Zurich, Switzerland. Although Kubota and Bachmann Architects LCC was founded only in December 2010, the collaboration of Toshihiro Kubota and Yves Bachmann has a rich and varied history dating back to their first encounter in 2001 at Ateliers Jean Nouvel in Paris. Born in Ibaraki (Japan), Toshihiro Kubota works since 2000 on a regular basis with Ateliers Jean Nouvel and was appointed partner in 2007. He played inter alia a key role actively in the Denmark Radio Concert Hall Copenhagen, the Paris Philharmonic and the Atlantis 3000 Casino Complex in Las Vegas. The Swiss architect Yves Bachmann left Ateliers Jean Nouvel in 2003 to start working for Iria Degen Interiors. He was actively involved in the conception of luxury resorts, offices and homes as for instance the Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town and the Restaurant Globus Löwenplatz in Zurich. With awards received for an international master plan competition in Zurich and the Maritime Culture and Pop Music Center in Kaoshiung (Taiwan), the Kubota and Bachmann Architects LCC demonstrates competencies in a wide range of disciplines. Its creative team covers all domains of architecture, interior design and urbanism. Last but not least a joint venture with landscape architects and environmentalists contribute to the success story of Kubota and Bachmann Architects LCC.
