Yagyug Douguten(やぐゆぐ道具店) is an interior design firm established in Tokyo by Fumitaka Suzuki. In 2018, the firm relocated its base to a former tea factory in the mountain village of Nara, and expanded the work field in product design and installation work as an artist. Their philosophy is “the thing and the story.” By exploring the history behind the place and people as well as their character, the team strives to breathe a “story” into the space/product. When a “story” is told, the reader is fascinated by the main character, and becomes inspired to think about society, and at times, it is even life changing. Yagyug Douguten aims to create experiences like this through design.
