Retractable Roofs for Public Events

Lanik provides the design, engineering, fabrication and installation of different retractable roof systems including the supporting structure, the electronic mechanisms and the roof cover completing an entire turnkey service. The systems are completed with an operating control panel fully monitored in real time displaying the rain, wind and temperature levels. A graphic user interface assists to control the roof and with detailed diagnostic resources to identify, control and optimize the interior climate according to the external conditions. The different systems are accommodated to the different architectural solutions for each Project. With more than 15 large retractable roofs since 1.999, the LANIK retractable roof systems have satisfactorily demonstrate their reliability and ensured a proper operation. With more than 38 years of experience in solving complex steel structures, in LANIK we provide turnkey solutions for unique buildings, researching and developing. We create value through research and development, project management, combining experience and market trends, managing all phases of the project from Design to Commissioning based on the PMBOK standard, managing projects and stakeholders. The retractable systems are designed for different degrees of openness which is essential, to balance the interior and exterior climatic conditions. The Arena da Baixada Roof in Curitiba for example opens completely in 26 minutes with a weight of 280 ton each roof sector, but the speed and duration can be adapted to client’s needs. The Curitiba stadium before was only used for football matches, so more or less 35 days per year, and the owners thought why don’t we convert our stadium into a multiuse arena and we will get more profit from it. A retractable turnkey solution that can be monitorised, can be a really profitable investment, in this example increasing the audience 30% and with a pay-back period of 5 years. Another thing to remark is that in this case we adapted our system to a welded steel structure. However in LANIK we have our own lightweight steel structural solutions based on a bolted system that can be used not only for roofs but also for facades.
