The project for these new spaces in the Valencian Modern Art Museum, together with the renovation of the work areas and interior spaces for relationships, the new galleries and some small doings, aims to recover the original character of the building allowing new uses.
These catalytic actions are not closed projects but part of a strategy that opens IVAM to the city, turning this modern art museum into a more inclusive and friendly facility, adapting it to a desired contemporaneity.

This is the first phase of materializing this strategy, in which these projects assume the responsibility of beginning to transform the building with small actions, very gainful in terms of space, program and energy. It's intended to optimize the daily life of the building, whose strong personality, closely linked to the austerity of the first moderns, has been undermined due to a lack of maintenance, unfortunate interventions, and without a master plan.
The museum's public spaces will thus amplify its role, transcending the classic art archive and trying to generate a social condenser, restoring the building to its original quality and clarity, but also bringing it to the present.
