Inspired by the Swedish word Mangata which means ‘moonlight over water’, the restaurant is deeply rooted in Nordic culture. 4SPACE has created a unique atmosphere honouring nature’s beauty in a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The designers have carefully considered their décor choices and overall ambience, whilst chefs have thoughtfully created menus celebrating life's simple pleasures.
The Art Deco-inspired restaurant spans an impressive 360 square metres. It boasts impressive sea views in the heart of the Matal Eatery Complex, Al Khobar, in Saudi Arabia. The stunning restaurant is the perfect destination for those that appreciate the sounds of the sea, an exclusive atmosphere of comfort and luxury and want to spend quality time with their families, friends and colleagues.

The imposing grand entrance leaves diners mesmerised with the Art Deco design that showcases a unique blend of luxury and silver screen glamour. Vibrant colours, symmetrical patterns and exuberant shapes provide an atmosphere of modern sophistication and opulence with a nod to the past.
Bold geometric shapes and intricate panelling hand-crafted with luxurious materials, including marble and brass, line the walls and floors. The ambience is a breathtaking blend of modernism and fashion.

4SPACE intentionally created a sleek, thought-provoking and anti-traditional aesthetic symbolising wealth and sophistication, which has proved a great success with diners. The restaurant has widespread appeal and a sense of timelessness.
The moon and its reflections on the Persian Gulf inspired the ceiling design. Designers used moon-like textures on the pendant globe lights and rippled steel to clad the ceiling resembling the surface of the sea. They seamlessly evoked the natural beauty of the moon and its ever-changing mirror image reflected in the sea.

Combining various aesthetically pleasing elements creates a mesmerising, calming, yet breathtaking atmosphere. 4SPACE used brass and black and white terrazzo flooring to represent lunar day and night, providing a unique representation of time in an otherwise timeless space. Designers chose restaurant furniture in brass and wood to signify a classic and timeless look. Blue and yellow highlights give pops of colour and reference the sea and moonlight.
Diners visiting Mangata Lounge feel like they travel back to the Great Gatsby golden era of the 1920s. The atmosphere is unique and unforgettable, where patrons can immerse themselves in a sea of nostalgia and culture whilst being surrounded by the beautiful and varied landscapes of Al Khobar. The décor, attention to detail and extraordinary cuisine transport guests back in time and create an unforgettable experience.
