These classic Bamboo floors are made in two different finishes and two different construction styles, creating a total of four basic styles into which are milled various profiles. Teragren's PureForm flooring is available in strip, wide plank, long plank, micro-bevel and square edge as well as a variety of installation styles including float, glue, staple and nail down.
Flat grain is the most commonly recognized aesthetic of bamboo flooring. In this construction bamboo slats are laminated face up to form a three-ply solid plank with no internal voids. The resulting look is one of long slats subtly broken by a pattern of nodes. Also called horizontal grain. To create a Vertical grain construction, the bamboo strips are laminated with edges exposed as the wear surface to form a solid bamboo plank with no internal voids. Vertical grain bamboo has minimal pattern, with no visible nodes.
These styles are available in both a natural and caramelized finish. To create the darker, caramelized color the milled bamboo slate are pressure-heated to "brown" the sugar compounds naturally present in the plant, yielding the warm, amber Teragren Caramelized color without using stains or dyes.
