Rehabilitation project for a house in the Azores. More specifically, in the Northeast of S. Miguel Island.
A characteristically rural area, attractive for those looking to return to the rural world, to the landscape of Nature, to the sounds of running water in the different surrounding waterfalls.
The dilapidated house was transformed into a house with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and an incredible common space, both indoors and outdoors.
The main facade was restored, maintaining its original identity. The spaces, colors and textures were maintained.
The project sought to integrate the common area with the external area, creating continuity between them. To achieve this, large openings and a balcony were used to connect the spaces. The flooring and materials were also chosen to reinforce this connection.
