“The site is the most pleasant and delightful that can be found (…) and as it has gorgeous views all around, some near, some further, and some until the horizon, porticos have been built along the four façades to look from them” - Andrea Palladio
The relationship between the villa and the surroundings, described by Andrea Palladio to explain the situation of his Villa Almerico, known as Villa Rotonda, leads us to the suggestive idea of converting the house into a portico, with the site as a scene and the house as a privileged setting to look from.
Different areas of the house: main space, service spaces, guests wing and painting workshop, are articulated on the vantage point in such a way that all spaces enjoy desired views and orientation.
