Nokia Office: A Fusion of Scandinavian Simplicity and African Aesthetics

Client Vision Meets Creative Excellence

Nokia, a leader in telecommunications, aimed to establish a workspace in Midrand, that is flexible, adaptive, and reflective of their global brand, while embracing the unique African context of its location. Trend Group was entrusted with the design and build of this 1271 sqm office space, completed within a brisk 16-week timeline.

Scandinavia Meets Africa: A Design Inspired by Nature

The design concept merges Scandinavian minimalism with modern African aesthetics. This blend is epitomized by the use of triangular motifs—a visual language of Nokia—reimagined with an African twist. Handmade woven pendant lights and lush greenery bring warmth and texture, transforming the office into a vibrant yet professional environment.

Crafting Unique Spaces: The Triangle as a Central Theme

The triangle motif, echoing Nokia's brand, plays a pivotal role throughout the space. In the reception area, the triangles create a floating effect, seamlessly transitioning from the wall to the ceiling, symbolizing a digital narrative in a tactile form. This design element not only reinforces Nokia's identity but also adds a dynamic, modern edge to the workspace.

Seamless Integration of Biophilia and Technology

The office design incorporates biophilic elements with green walls and strategically placed plants, fostering a connection with nature that enhances employee well-being. Paired with acoustic panels and baffles, these features ensure that the space is as functional as it is beautiful, promoting a calm and productive work environment.
