In Shanghai, WJ Studio recently completed the design for the clubhouse Aroma Town. With the aim of differentiating their concept from other existing resorts, the design incorporates thematic social and natural elements into a space for ultimate relaxation.

The interior space is divided three key areas. The first is the aromatic region, which has a focus on flowers. There is also a tea-themed social living room for meetings and gatherings, and a food-themed private dining room. These three distinct spatial areas are unified by interconnected moving lines which extend to their respective courtyards.

Materials throughout are primarily light wood colours. The warmth of these materials highlights a more intimate and comfortable feeling, allowing visitors to achieve a state of optimal mental relaxation.

The natural wood materials are combined with the addition of ceiling flowers and interior fittings that emphasize the herbaceous feel of the space. The choice of furniture is also based on artisanal pieces, reinforcing the overall theme.

In the aromatic experience area, the use of travertine adds a touch of calm contrast. The spa area and guest rooms use a darker colour palette with light and shadow effects to offer guests a comfortable place for rest and recuperation. The Private Dining Room continues the elegant feel of the previous space, with a dark wood base materials.

The tea room expresses the concept of leisurely drinking tea in the woods. The modern interpretation of the ancient Chinese theme of privacy and nature also illustrates the designers' consideration of the proposition of integrating natural elements into the most private of spaces.
