Casa Morena
Casa Morena is situated on a plot with verdant pine trees, a place where the view becomes lost in the green of the surrounding area and the immense blue of a bay. The pine trees mark the site and have influenced the planning and reticulated design of the house. Some of the schist, used to build the solid walls, was removed from the site. These walls mark the house’s foundation, which is deconstructed into walls that become lower and lower, becoming separate from the house and merging into the garden. A natural and neutral foundation, in its raw state, that rises from the ground in direct contrast to the clear lightness of the upper floor, white and smooth, composed of horizontal layers that appear to become loose and floating, seeking... CASA RL
“Casa RL” is a very special project, because it is a commission for my older brother and his family.
The place is located in the town of Cholul, a suburban area of the city of Mérida, with an area of 1,300 m2.

The family's request was very clear, to give priority to the social area, a lot of vegetation and have Yucatecan character in the design. These premises are integrated into the project taking advantage of the length of the land and incorporating a series of visual punchlines towards the gardens at all times.

Amelia Tavella Architectes completes an elongated school of stone fitted to the contours of its hillside site
L'agence Amelia Tavella Architectes, basée à Aix-en-Provence, a achevé la construction d'une école maternelle et primaire de 2300 mètres carrés à Cabriès, dans le sud de la France. Réalisé avec une enveloppe de pierre naturelle, de béton et d'éléments en bois de chêne, le bâtiment de deux étages est encastré au pied d'une colline, sur un site situé à une cinquantaine de mètres de la mairie locale, où la pente s'aplanit et s'ouvre sur des champs verdoyants au sud.

Los Helechos
Ensconced in lush natural surroundings, Los Helechos—named after the ferns on the property— is an oasis of calm in the frenzy of Mexico City. Located in Bosques de Santa Fe, the house is firmly planted in the landscape and has strongly defined volumes. Its large picture windows create delightful ambiences and afford spectacular views.

The ample interiors articulate the house’s different levels with clean lines and a constant interplay between light, materials and local vegetation. Being a large residence, all bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and closets, with designs that are less utilitarian and more like spas and zones for relaxation, while also benefitting from natural lighting.
