The education company’s new headquarters in Riga combine various facilities - a showroom, lecture spaces, workspaces, formal and informal meeting areas, and video and audio recording studios. The focus of the design is the well-being of users - access to natural daylight, acoustic climate, ergonomics, flexible layout, and multifunctional spaces. To begin, LJ Partnership introduced us to their current office space & were interrested in how we envisioned the space as well as how we would plan to bring these plans into fruition. This project stems from the need to modernize the branch, using new materials and revaluing the space to adapt to current needs. The program includes new workstations, a new private office, the design of a new store marquee, and the possibility to take advantage of the original height, that was hidden above the sheetrock ceilings. A new aluminum composite cladding was specially designed, to create an interesting background for the employees. It's geometric modules evoke the company logo. John Robertson Architects (JRA) has completed the refurbishment of Bracken House in the City of London on behalf of the building’s owner, Obayashi Corporation. Bracken House was designed by Sir Albert Richardson in 1959 as The Financial Times (FT) headquarters and was extensively remodeled in the high-tech style by Michael Hopkins & Partners between 1988 and 1992. Our challenge was to create an emblematic space for the electric company INELTRON, out of a dark and narrow establishment, which would act as a corporate image, projecting a modern look to the future clients. We started working on the project by focusing on making as much wide open space as possible – most of the dividing walls were demolished – so that natural light from the courtyard could flow throughout the whole interior.White walls and ceilings in the working area are complemented by a microcement flooring and laser cut steel walls, which run across the entire office, unify the design.Valsain pine furniture -mostly custom-made - dominates the space .
