A rental home in Southern Quarters
Rental housing in Russia is underdeveloped and mostly restricted to Moscow. DOM.RF, an institute for housing development in Russia, is promoting the concept of institutional investment jointly with local developers. Aiming to design tailored housing in each Russian city, it secures long-term rental in revamped apartments with good household facilities.

Southern Quarters is a large-scale redevelopment scheme scheduled for the nearest ten years. It will feature new housing with a rental home, schools and kindergartens, sports facilities, parks and alleys.

Rail House
Rail House, a 13 unit apartment building in Columbia City, was the result of a collaboration between the client, atelierjones and Valor. The client’s goal was to build beautiful and affordable apartments near public transportation. Beyond maximizing space within the units, the client requested that the project have a unique architectural quality to complement the diverse community. The exterior facade features red hardie panel, black break metal, concrete, and aluminum panels. Its unique window arrangement maximizes light and privacy—with all units running north to south to ensure they are flooded with natural light throughout the year.Each unit has its own set of special features such as soaring ceilings, heated concrete floors,...
