"Calamina.design is the result of my sculptural exploration applied to the furniture design. Through this handcrafted work I try to transfer my research about this material possibilities (marble) to the pieces I create. I purely work with this material to push forward its technical quality. My work on each piece usually ends when I reach the technical conclusions I am looking for. The raw material, its morphology and the primitive veining are the starting point of my work. I understand this sculptoric body ans a growing nucleus, which is shaped under this criteria. Reducing the essential, investigating the voids of the spaces, as one more element of the work, leaving the structural material seen from the outside, to be part of the composition of the object."
