An abandoned stone farmhouse from the late 1700’s, breathtaking views and a vision: to bring back to life an abandoned piece of landscape and history in the heart of Italy. This project is about the local materials reused in their traditional way, to honor and respect the same land that produced them. A green project by nature that emphasizes local resources and craftsmanship. While the architectural structure is rebuilt by rooting it in the history of the place, its interiors become the expression of a more complex personality that aspires to be global and sophsisticated. Hand made white plastered walls, hand made terracotta floor and ceiling tiles, exposed chestnut wood beams and local stones are put in contrast with acid etched floating glass panels, modern furnishing, cabinets and fixtures to create a special dialogue between the old and the new. Simplicity and serenity are married with the visual energy created by the interaction between the landscape and the interior spaces. An infinity pool reflects the Tuscan sky and enjoys the views of pastures, woods and fields around.
