The spacious apartment in the historic center of Moscow had an irregular layout, dictated by the “broken” geometry of the walls. Spiridonovka St and Vspolnyi lane, along which the walls of the house are located, cross at an angle of fewer than 90 degrees, which imprints on the architecture of the entire building.
To hide this flaw, Golden Heads‘ Art Director Anastasia Kaspari placed the regular shape rooms on the left side of the apartment, bringing the sharp corners to the column in the center of the apartment, where the living room is located, turning this space into a semicircle.
The living room has become the center and heart of the house. To make it appear lighter and brighter, adjoining rooms were purposely taken into darker tones. The room shape complexity required a special parquet pattern hiding the bevel of the floor. For this, Anastasia developed a pattern, which she first built in the workshop on a full-size floor model, before laying the parquet in the apartment.
In this interior, many things were created according to the sketches of the author of the project – Anastasia Kaspary. This was especially pronounced in the design of the bedroom, where the walls were decorated with a bas-relief, based on paintings by Henri Russo. It took 4 months to sculpt each twig and feather, which were then covered with a complex gray-purple hue.
The jungle motif is supported also by the master bathroom. The decor here is the art painting, which creates a “disappearing wall” effect and hides the irregular shape of the space. White marble distinguishes two main objects of the bathroom - a console with sinks and a shower.
It should be noted that the vast collection of porcelain brought by clients from all over the world played a significant role in the interior. So a big part of it was located on the stained-glass window shelves, which concept was inspired by the Eiffel Tower. To create it, Anastasia took as a basis the real structure of Paris's main tower and created her improvisation. The stained-glass structure performs not only a decorative function but also zones the kitchen and hallway.
