The through-colour core Monochrom White HPL High Pressure Laminate was used to renovate the bar of the Wagener Galerie in Baden Baden. The result is a pure white and homogeneous creation that draws the attention of those who pass by.
The bar, centrally located on the first floor of the shopping centre, needed to stand out without any signage. With several stores surrounding the bar, each with their own colours and interior design, this required a well thought out design. The architect practice Rottmann chose the pure white of Polyrey B170 Blanc Absolu.
The bar was given a square edged form and the bar furniture was bonded with High Pressure Laminate Monochrom B170. This pure white and through-colour core material allows to create clean lines without visible edges. Furthermore the brilliant white colour reinforces the effect of the bar being an island on its own. To add an extra dimension to the whole effect, the surface finish Epimat was used for the bar fronts.
Because of the intensive use, the durability of the material used was an important issue as well. Therefore, Polyrey Monochrom High Pressure Laminate was a conscious choice because of its high heat, scratch and impact resistance. As an added bonus, this material is available with antibacterial ‘Santized’ grade as standard.
