Located in Singapore’s Central Business district, Robinson Tower by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) takes on the form of one tower floating above another – with a lush garden separating the two. The building’s slender core facilities the effect and further serves to maximize landscaped terraces and view outwards towards the surrounding marina.

The form is in large part the legacy of Singapore’s Landscape Replacement Policy. Implemented in 2014, the policy requires that any greenery lost due to development be replaced with publicly accessible greenery in equal area within the new building. . The architects describe the concept as ‘sustainable urbanism’ as  developers are required to include more publicity accessible greenspaces.

Design Director Bruce Fisher at KPF says ‘ "The dynamic tower frees itself from the canyon of stoic facades, integrating green space at unique vantage points and ultimately cultivating the public realm alongside a boutique, mixed-use program."
