Alubronze is a specialized product offered by Dutch aluminum manufacturer Alumet. Anodizing
Anodizing is an electrochemical process which converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant oxide layer. This aluminium oxide is not applied to the surface like coating or plating, but is fully integrated with the underlying aluminium substrate. This means it cannot chip or peel. It has a highly ordered, porous structure which allows secondary processes such as coloring.
Color range
Alumet's color range includes bronze tones. The company can anodize from light bronze to black. Pigments are not used, but rather metals to obtain the bronze color. Bronze anodizing is therefore 100% UV resistant and will remain sparkling for a long time.

META and TRACTEBEL in association with Storimans Wijffels architects completed a commission from the University of Antwerp to build an auditorium and research building at the heart of the Drie Eiken campus in Wilrijk. Building O is a bright and compact volume that, on the one hand, is intended to be an eye-catcher on the campus. On the other hand, it was also required to leave the smallest possible spatial stamp on the site. The balance resulted in a universal building with a double entrance section that is mirrored diagonally, thus assigning equal importance to the access points on both sides.
A five-storey car park on the former Jeka site on Molengracht marks the transition from the busy traffic area to the quiet entrance to the new Amphia hospital. The car park has 900 parking spaces for patients and visitors. The facade of the Amphia Hospital Car Park in Breda has a surface of 4365 square meters. Alumet anodized all 10,332 slats in Alubronze02. By applying aluminum profiles in combination with anodizing the building gets a chic appearance and the facade is durable.
Keeping and strengthening the green character and the level differences of the location form the basis of the design for the Montessori College Nijmegen. In reaction to the slope of the Kwakkenberg the volume of both new buildings gradually goes from south west to north east, with roof terraces and roof gardens on the sunny south and west side and overhangs on the north and east side.
To preserve the cultural historical value of the adjecent convent complex and not to exceed the scale of the surroundings, the two new buildings differ in shape andare made up of several partial volumes with their own materialisation of wood, aluminium cladding and enamlled glass. Both the wood and the aluminium are designed as vertical strips varying in width. The building has bronze colored aluminum cladding and the VMBO-building silver color cladding so that both buildings have their own recognizable identity.
