CASA TROPIKA

The design of the building was inspired by an exploration of the captivating atmosphere of a sunset along the seaside. This led to the development of the concept, “The New Place: Sunset at Bangsaen”, reflecting the essence of the final light on Bangsaen’s shoreline.

-Exterior Design-

The design begins with zoning the space, using circular lines to divide areas, resulting in a flowing, curved layout. The existing building is transformed into a café, featuring a large glass block façade that subtly screens the view of the garden while enhancing the interior ambiance.

On the beachfront, a bar is positioned as the centerpiece of the venue, designed as a large sculpture symbolizing the setting sun disappearing over the sea. It is surrounded by seating areas beneath large trees and a stage by the shoreline. This setup ensures that the audience views the stage with the backdrop of the setting sun, creating a breathtaking and immersive experience.

-Interior Design-

The interior is designed in a Mid-Century Modern style, using simple materials such as sandblasted colors and textured plaster techniques. The furniture is designed with curved shapes and vibrant colors to soften the constraints of the low ceiling height. Another key highlight is the ceiling, which mimics the sunset. The light hitting the glossy materials creates an effect, resembling the sun setting and reflecting on the surface of the water.
