Renovation of an existing 1940′s solid brick house on a small site, long left to its own devices. The brief was to retain the unique ‘swellegance’ of the existing dwelling, juxtapose with a slightly ‘punk’ approach and maximise connections to the garden areas. The solution included a reduction to the original footprint including a new deck with outdoor ‘folly’ -outdoor shower and dunny! The kitchen was configured to open out to the living and dining areas with plenty of flexible storage. A clever and playful bunk bed was designed for two young girls with a dividing wall enabling the girls to interact between their separate rooms.
