A typical project where there's a lack of budget, short time and top quality needed. When we met the client the mission seamed really impossible. The project was huge, a completely new lot with many buildings, parks, streets, square, photovoltaic area and a very good study done on the vegetation and flowers needed. The animation length requested was 2,5 minuts and the final render should be in HD, time for delivery 30 days. Other companies refused the challenge and after a consultation with the technical team we accepted to take up the job.
The material given by the client was really huge, hundreds of cads to be consulted for the hole small city. Cads for roads, houses and houses details, vegetation, common areas, squares, playing areas, gardens and many many more. More than 300 files cad which in most of cases needed updates from the client and corrections on the way. 10 days gone only to perform this task with and architect supervisor in our team checking every single detail.
The next rush was something really incredible in the studio with a team of around 10 persons working on all the phases: modelling, drafts confirmation, texturing, making the 3D vegetation, lighting the scene and setting up the cameras for the animation. 10 days without sleeping and making the project coming true hour after hour. The rendering was literally a jump into the dark for the client, which trusted in our capabilities without being able to watch at the result till the final rendering.
The last 10 days we started the post-production process, cutting the better scenes, making the color correction and doing the video editing. And after this task the final step to choosing the music and making the final effects to achieve a great look and feel to the video. This phase consumed 5 days.
For the final render of 2,5 minuts in HD quality we crossed our fingers and used all the power of our render farm. Around 80 processors working night and day make the dream come true. The day before the delivery the video was ready and the output was, even with our surprise, out of any expectation. Our little story of one month, turned into a successful story in our studio. And after 2 days the client did his presentation with a big video-wall in front of a public of 200 investors. We where there and the feeling of something big was on the air. The enthusiasm released from the video and the music maked an incredible atmosphere of collaboration and business strength. And we were proud to be part of that.
