The Baya lounge chair, stands out for its sculptural and welcoming presence, where compact forms and full volumes combine with an essential and contemporary aesthetic. The project embodies Chou's design approach, where technology, innovation, and traditional craftsmanship merge to create versatile and contemporary solutions, rooted in culture and social context.
In this dialogue between East and West, Baya becomes a narrative as well as a functional element in a design object that expresses balance between aesthetic identity, comfort, and manufacturing quality. The design is defined by a cylindrical base that transmits stability and visual comfort. From this structure emerges a backrest composed of curved and overlapping elements, almost independent modules that intertwine in a fluid gesture.
This creates an iconic silhouette, with contained proportions that naturally embrace the body, designed for both residential and hospitality environments. The upholstery, in leather or fabric, enhances the Italian artisanal tradition through precise stitching, material continuity, and sartorial attention to detail.
