Layers of resin are accented by a selection of soft hues including Translucent Suedeand Linen White, to create a play of light and color that channel a subtle, yeteffective luminosity. The minimalist color offerings pair well with the reimaginedshapes, offering designers a modern twist on classic forms but if designers arelooking for a bolder color combination, the fixtures are also available with 3form’sextensive color offerings. The inspiration for the new product line stemmed from two CAD developers inLightArt's Seattle studio. The original two products, Cove and Round Over, weredesigned by Ryan Kearney and Kevin Jackson, during an in-house creativechallenge, “I wanted to go for a kind of retro look, something that reminded me ofmy grandparent's house. I like the way some plastics and glass look when edge-lit,so I wanted to try that with some 3form material,” says Jackson. Both of the fixtureswere designed using a modular, geometric shape that pivots around a central point. The unique approach to classic round and oval shapes inspired the design for theentire Contour collection. The two original fixtures, Cove and Round Over are joined by three new fixtures,Bevel, Chamfer and Dovetail as well as LightArt’s Cigar and French Curve to createa collection of seven fixtures that offer designers a cohesive family of shapes forversatility across a variety of industries. The Contour collection is handmade in Seattle within 4-6 weeks utilizing a modular fabrication process to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
