The compact kitchen was really in need of replacement. The cabinets were worn and the kitchen was too small.
Therefore, we have created a design that solved all the problem the owners had. By connecting the kitchen and the living room with the countertop, that naturally overflows into a seating area and tv cabinet the kitchen as well as the living room became larger.
The cabinet and countertop have a minimalistic design, to make sure they don't draw all the attention towards the kitchen. Yet the details are sophisticated and sleek. For example, the handle-less fronts open ingeniously because the middle drawers are placed further back. The worksheet and fronts are made out of white LG Hi-Macs.
The artwork is printed on a glass plate, which reflects the light coming from the front window. The wall is coated in a blue-gray tint. By keeping the design this minimalistic, the long wall is not predominant and does not get bored.
The bench is used as an extra seat, for example when the whole family is over. In the drawer below are some extra pillows.
