The model Ph1925+ is inspired by the model designed in 1925 by the German industrial architect Ferdinand Kramer, an important figure from the Bauhaus-trend. This was a significant period for architecture and design and points out a very important innovation and complete turnaround concerning the spirit of age. The sober and to the point design of this handle is in huge contrast to the natural materials and authentic casting process. The balance that is created between retro and design doesn’t result in a second life. It creates a completely new one. The imperfections that are custom to sand casting, and the choice of using living materials would have been unthinkable for Kramer and his colleagues. Nowadays it creates a complete new style: Where industrial design meets tradition! The handles are sand cast, following a process that from 3000 BC. Even the last finishing touches are done by hand. The fact that a handle with a simple and stern design, created in a time when machine made was a must, generates a contradiction that is truly new and inspiring. For years the term design was equal to stainless steel, polished chrome etc. The same can be said about sand casting and living materials: they ask for rustic and rural shapes. By combining these two contradictions in one handle you will be inspired to think about new and original possibilities in interior design.
The PH1925+ is available in 5 finishes : aged iron, white bronze, satin white bronze, raw bronze and raw metal.
