Sensitile’s light-emitting Lumina is an elegant, easily serviceable and configurable solution for Screening, Signage, Wayfinding, Feature Walls, horizontal and vertical surfacing and Light Fixtures. Light from a single energy efficient light source is harvested by and emitted from a multitude of light points integral to the material. Available in resin and glass and suitable for both interior and exterior environments, Lumina can incorporate brand identity via shaped, cut, stamped, and mounted elements.

Lumina was designed to harvest, efficiently transport and emit light, the color of which can be changed and renewed effortlessly while ensuring ease of maintenance and serviceability. Light-emitting facets are integral to the material, while the exposed surface is smooth. The illumination system is external, relative to the material, allowing for easy serviceability without cumbersome disassembly.

The cleverly designed internal faceting strategy of Lumina makes it a precisely structured diffuser that transports light from external sources on its edge with emission from one or both faces. Depending on the intensity of the light source in the paired illumination system, this material can serve as a primary source of illumination for wayfinding or as an accent. The ease of customizability and fabrication has allowed designs with 2-D (cut) or 3-D (shaped) elements which has enabled brands to “own” the look of signage. Easy serviceability of the system is facilitated by design. Lighting is always external to the material and can be serviced or updated without cumbersome disassembly.

Lumina is comprised of raw materials with a minimum of 20% post-consumer recycled content. No VOC is emitted during its manufacture or its entire life-cycle (Test: CAL 1350-Result: Zero VOC emissions). Material is manufactured using environmentally responsible practices to the exact specifications, with very little excess. Our aggressive and targeted sample program utilizes the little extra that we may produce.
